Halstead and Essex marathon

6 February 2018 - By Stewart Waller

They say that the older you get the faster time passes and for me it is now flying by. I cannot believe that it is a year ago that I was asking for volunteers to man/woman our water station at the Halstead and Essex marathon but it is and I am doing so again.

The race is organised by our friends at Halstead Road Runners and this is your chance to give them a hand, have a fun day out (and it is fun!), support our own club members who are taking part and earn some club championship points to boot!

The event takes place on Sunday 13th May so please put it in your diary and let me know if you are able to spare a few hours. More details later.

In the meantime, if you are considering a marathon or have failed to get in the VLM I can fully recommend doing the H&E. It is consistently rated one of the top marathons in the country taking place on mainly traffic free country lanes and whist it is more undulating than say the VLM you are likely to complete it quicker. More info on the Halstead Road Runners website.

Hope to see you there.
