Faster 5k Schedule – Thursday 23rd May – Hills session – Beeleigh Abbey, Maldon

This Thursday we are heading to Beeleigh Abbey for a hill session. The hill is approximately 500m and is a steady climb, and will help you increase your speed and anaerobic capacity, raising your lactate threshold. This will in turn improve your endurance and as the session progresses, will also improve your mental toughness (as long as you keep going!)
Your pace uphill should be around your 10k pace and the recovery is downhill. We suggest a walk into a slow jog as you descend. Look to repeat every effort at approximately the same pace.
There will be a dynamic warm up and drills prior to a 30 minute session and cool down stretches back at Tesco for those that want it.
The meeting point is around the click and collect bays at Tesco Maldon at 7:30pm and the warm up jog is along the canal towpath towards Beeleigh. It is slightly longer than a mile and if this is further than you wish to run prior to the session you can meet at the venue at approx. 7:50pm.
