Parking

Unfortunately, we have not been able to gain access to both St Helena School or Colchester Institute for parking.  Also, Sheepen Road itself has parking restrictions on a Saturday. There are local car parks which are all payable but are the closest to the course. The entrance to the start area is where Sheepen Road meets Hilly Fields.

Sheepen Road Car Park

This car park is quite small but is only a couple of minutes from the start area.

Middleborough multi-storey

This car park is about 7mins from the start

St Mary’s multi-storey

This car park is about 10mins walk from the start.  Best to walk through to the footpath off of Pope’s Road and take the path signposted ‘Sheepen Road’

Free Parking

The entrance to Hilly Fields is off of Sussex Road and you just have to walk 5mins to the start.  There are a few spaces at the top of Sussex Road but they will fill up quickly.

This is Norman Way, Lockhart Ave and Endsleigh Court. All of which have no restrictions on Saturdays.

You can park on all of these roads but there are time restrictions on resident permit areas so please just check before parking. For example, ‘The Avenue’ is ok until 3pm on the right hand side as you drive in but no parking from 12.45-1.45pm on the left.  They are between 7 and 12 (approx) mins walk to the end of Sussex Road +5mins.

By train

This may be a good option for some as the main (Colchester North) Station is only about 10-15mins walk from the start.
