December 2023 CMOTM

The final Club Member of the Month for 2023 has been awarded to Shane Ketteridge. This has been awarded for his dedication to training and racing and for the awesome photo in the mud (see above). For taking part in three trail races during December, including the Flitch Way Half Marathon. Shane seems to be running at least one race a week and regularly appearing in the results reports. He is a great run club member and always has a smile on his face, cheering on others and joining in the Tuesday and Thursday runs in all weathers.

We also had the below excellent nominations come through for December 2023:

• James Attenborough – For taking on the role as BD5 Race Director
• Lysia Jiggins – For her run at the Sikhs in the City Marathon
• Will Radley – For being the fastest pudding in the East
• Christine Israel Jones – For her progress in running and her commitment to follow the training plan for her first marathon in Edinburgh
• Owen Dare – For his trophy in the County Championships and achieving his Club Standards for all his efforts in 2023
• Leanne Andrews – She has been very proactive these past few months dedicating lots of time to publicising the BD5 race including numerous Facebook posts and getting free advertising from WRC members to wear old BD5 T-shirts out on their training runs. She was also a great marshal director at the event itself and has even volunteered to be RD next yearx
