Club Championship update
28 September 2016 - By Marc Underdown
As promised in the first update, I have published the provisional club championship tables as at the end of September. You can access them by going to ‘Awards’ and selecting ‘Club Championship Table’.
The race for the titles is really hotting up. Shelley still leads the way in the ladies competition but Liz is not far behind and potentially still has one race distance to count. I’m sure Vicky and Anita will also be looking to have a solid series of autumn races to push their scores higher.
Andy Lager has also retained his lead at the top of the men’s competition but many of those who have one distance to complete will certainly be in the mix, as well as Mark Austin who still has two distances left assuming he wants to try and retain his title!
It was brought to my attention recently that the ‘WAVA’ age graded world record tables have been updated. These tables form the basis for calculating how many points your time equates to. I have therefore updated these new tables which are more granular than the old ones and so some of your points may have changed slightly from what was published previously even if you haven’t run any further races.
Going forward we have a busy schedule of races with Pleshey half, Tiptree 10, Wix 5, Stebbing 10, and Chelmsford 10K all counting in the club champs in the next couple of months, and further opportunities to gain commitment points in the cross country races.
This will be the last update on the standings. The winner and runner-up in each competition will be announced at the dinner dance on Saturday 25th February, and the full table published shortly after.
