Cake bakers of the club…unite!
8 October 2017 - By Becky Grimwood
Our cross country athletes need you!
It is now tradition that after each cross country race, runners indulge (guilt-free) in a slice of the sweet stuff.
Our numbers at these races are bigger than ever, leading to a fan-blooming-awesome result last year. Now here’s a thought…Maybe the success was partly down to the lure of delicious cake at the end? And what would happen if we let those snacking standards drop? No! I hear you cry – we CAN’T let that happen!
So…
We need YOU to don an apron and bake bake bake. We ideally need 2 or 3 cakes/bakes per race. Ideally you will be running too, but if not in sure someone who is will transport the food for you! The 53:12 races are our priority –
29th October Springfield
5th November Harwich
26th November Colchester
10th December Halstead
14th January Ipswich
18th February Hadleigh
The dates for the Saturday league are also on Anita’s previous post. If you can do any of those too, that would be great. We are predicting fewer runners there in comparison to the 53:12 league for this year at least.
If you can help re-fuel and re-energise our weary athletes this year, please contact me asap with what date(s) you can do. Either message me on Facebook, reply to this post, see me at the club, or contact me via the website (if you send an enquiry about intro to club running it will come to me!) I will then put together our rota.
Thank you in advance you lovely lot of baking heroes.
Becky
