Benidorm – 2017/18 Update

Since 2004 we have made the annual trip each November to Benidorm for a long weekend jolly to run (or not) in a either a 10k, Half Marathon or Marathon distance.

However this year The Spanish Council, who organise the event, have decided to move the Half Marathon to 3rd March 2018 and run the event in the early evening.

There is to be a 10k on 26th November, although in typical Spanish tradition, the details still remain vague.

So it is with regret that I will not be organising a trip in 2017.

That said if there is sufficient demand I would consider doing so in March which could of course dovetail into a Spring Marathon training plan.

To give some of the newbies an idea of  previous costs; you book the flight to Alicante and you then pay £115 (single) or £105 (twin room) for the 3 nights which includes half board, coach transfer, race entry, WRC Tour t shirt and post race meal. However as it is a different time of year prices may well be slightly more and I will have  a better idea once I have potential numbers.
