BD5+1
21 December 2016 - By Martyn Byford
What started off as a one off for those that couldn’t run because of Marshalling duties in 2006 has turned into an annual fixture in the WRC calendar.
Probably the most memorable running was in 2008 when it snowed BD night and had the race been on the 27th then it would have been cancelled. We got round in blizzard conditions with the roads under a blanket of snow and for the record a certain Chris Feasey skated round in 32 minutes!
So for those that want to run the BD5, even if you did the original, then I suggest we meet at the Leisure Centre at 10am for a jog up to the start. Generally it is at a pace you wish to run but the general consensus is that people run in small groups taking it as seriously or as casually as you like but there are no prizes.
Previously we have decamped after to a coffee venue but that said we normally decide on the day.
Hopefully see a few of you there.
Merry Christmas
Martyn
