9.00am - Morrisons
The stoney season seems to have returned with reports of gritting in the Greenstead Green/Halstead area. I checked the Essex Highways website and it seems more to the West of Greenstead Green so should be ok if we do the Pebmarsh route. There may not be a large group at Morrison’s as many are now tapering for next week’s WRC mega weekend at Ironman Vichy, but I think several of us are planning on poping over for cake. On the upside, it’s looking likely to be warm and dry on Saturday but could be a bit breezy.
Please arrive at Morrison’s by 9am ready for a 9:05am departure.
Out via Rivenhall, Silver End, Perry Green, Stisted, Greenstead Green, Earls Colne and White Colne up to Pebmarsh. Turn left then right at the top of the hill in Pebmarsh then take the dragstrip to Halstead (please take care along the main road) and back up to Greenstead Green.
This is a reletively short route (about 25 – 26 miles) and the return to Witham is only about 11 – 13 miles.
I have a GPX file of the route available, ask me if you would like me to send this over.
See you at Greenstead Green.
3pm onwards at the chairman's house in Cressing.
An afternoon/evening to socialise with your fellow club members, have a laugh, play some games etc.
Remember to bring something to sit on, what will go on the BBQ and what you want to drink!
Please contact me if you need details of where I live.
9.00am - Morrison's
Routes and distances decided on day within each group.
We are a friendly bunch with more than 200 members and our club meets at Witham Football Club on Spa Road, Witham.
We provide a good mix of training programmes, a great social environment, but most of all we give respect, support, encouragement and equality to our fellow athletes regardless of how quickly or slowly they choose to run.
Our website is full of information, but the best way to find out about our club is to come and give us a no commitment try.
