The 16th running of the Halstead and Essex County Champs marathon is on Sunday, May 9th.

As in previous years, Witham Running Club have been asked to help with marshalling and/or a water station. If you have never helped out before, it is a fun day out and the support given to the runners is really appreciated (I speak from experience) This is definitely one of the friendliest marathons around and is the only marathon in Essex.

In return for giving up a good few hours on a Sunday, marshals will receive a commemorative t-shirt and, if the club take on an entire water station, Halstead Road Runners will offer up to 5 free marathon entries, worth around £100.

If you can spare some time to help out, even if it is for a couple of hours, please let me know as soon as possible so I can let the organisers know. As we have some runners from WRC taking part, it will be great to be there and to cheer them on.
