IPSWICH CROSS COUNTRY - 5 POINTS CLEAR AT TOP OF LEAGUE
Posted on Sunday, January 24 @ 14:26:24 GMT by frankadmin

Cross Country martynb writes "In the fourth League Fixture at Ipswich we moved 5 points clear of Tiptree at the top of Pool B.

Once again the ladies headed their Group with Rosie maintaining her unbeaten run but only just having to hold off Brigid who was catching quickly on the second of the two mile laps.

Wendy, Claire and Liz made up our team and in doing so ensured we had everyone in by position 27 which is an excellent showing bearing in mind most of our ladies did their long marathon training run yesterday.

For the guys injury and family commitments did not affect our placing coming home joint first. Roy having swum at 6.30 was our first scorer with Ian Mac having his first outing of the year closing out the team. A special mention to Mark Williams who improves on a weekly basis and who finished in 90th.

Full Placings

Rosie Kelly   20
Brigid Wallen 21
Wendy Martin 24
Claire Gordon 25
Liz Stuckey 27

Roy Young  34
Stuart Mills  46
Frank McKeown  53
Ian McLaughlin 55
Alan Pilgrim 65
Ryan Kelly  78
Mark Williams  90
Alex Stuckey  93
Kev Payne  96
Tony Gordon 103
Paul Hedger  107
Alex Wood 112
Les Leeds 115
Ben Leeds 118

Dave Smith once again did a brilliant job organising the Junior Event and our Juniors Results will be posted separately.

An excellent performance from all our runners who made the longest trip of season. thanks to Lyn and Dave Payne for their support and of course to Liz for the cake.

The next fixture is ours at The Discovery Centre on 21st February when we will look for a massive turnout on home turf to win Pool B.

See you there in 4 weeks.

Martyn"
